I can tell you right now that I am going to find it very hard to part with this piece.

In summary, she is a beautifully crafted antique double Albert chain, likely from the early 20th century, complete with elegant T-bar. Made entirely from 9ct gold, which has turned buttery soft over the years, her chain is comprised of individually hallmarked curb links. These are thickest at the central part of the chain and graduate down gently in size toward the T-bar and clasps. The links are solid gold, meaning she weighs an impressive 22g for her size.

The necklace secures with two 9ct gold antique dog clips, which to my relief, are easy to fasten without assistance. I don’t have much patience for fiddly necklace clasps!

There is an additional short section of chain near the T-bar, which may have had a fob or watch attached to it at some point. You could add a charm or pendant to this, or it is easily removable. In terms of length, she sits quite close to the neck, so she looks fab with a T-shirt or layered up with other longer chains.

Condition

Very good condition. This is still a fantastic looking antique chain, the gold has aged beautifully and has turned a glorious darker shade. Some of the hallmarks are partially worn, and there are the usual marks here and there you would expect to see on a piece this age.
