Victoria | Antique 18ct Gold Sapphire & Diamond Half Hoop Ring

This sparkling antique ring has such character. The design is typical of the early Edwardian era, and would make such a gorgeous engagement or eternity ring. 

A large oval cut sapphire (approx. 0.52ct) sits at the centre of the piece, which is the most calming shade of deep midnight blue. Two European old cut diamonds (approx. 0.58ct) sit on either side creating an impressive trilogy of jewels. If that wasn’t enough, 6 tiny rose cut accent diamonds are nestled into the gold for that extra twinkle. When the sunlight catches this ring it is quite extraordinary - sunglasses are advised. 

The stones are sat in a pretty carved half hoop section of the band, which is covered with highly decorative scroll detailing. Crafted entirely from 18ct gold, it still has a lustrous shine which looks fantastic against that inky blue jewel.

“18CT” partially faded. Tested as 18ct gold.

Condition

Good condition. The two larger diamonds are stunning - free from any external wear with no visible inclusions to the naked eye. The sapphire has some wear to the surface, it is a softer stone than diamond so this is often the case in a well loved piece. The gold is still lovely and bright, with evidence of a resize.
