I don’t know if it’s the dinky size of this ring, or the unusual marquise cabochon cut of the stone, but I think she is cute as a button.

She’s an antique piece, with a stunning opal gemstone at her centre which dances magical rainbow tones when shimmered in the light. Opals never fail to amaze me with their beautiful play- of-colour properties.

The stone is secured in a simple 9ct gold prong setting. The metal has turned a heavenly soft rose colour over the years, peppered with wear, which you just can’t buy in new jewellery.

Condition

Good condition. This ring is packed full of charm and still looks fab considering the age. Under close examination you can see a small chip in one end of the opal near the prong, but this isn’t hugely noticeable. The gold has turned a beautiful dark shade and is peppered with wear.
